Client: Netflix
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Thirty years after Beverly Hills Cop III, Axel Foley was finally back. For the launch of Netflix’s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, PASSERINE developed print creative designed to reignite the loyalty of longtime fans while teasing the return of one of film’s most beloved characters.

Our approach began with a simple truth: Eddie Murphy and Axel Foley didn’t need an introduction. For generations of fans, the character already lived in the cultural memory. The opportunity was to tap into that nostalgia, rewarding the people who had been waiting decades for Axel’s return while creating intrigue around what was coming next.

The campaign ultimately stripped everything back to one unmistakable piece of iconography: Axel Foley’s Detroit Police detective badge. For those who knew, it was instantly recognizable, a visual shorthand capable of unlocking decades of memories in a single glance.

The result was a deceptively simple campaign built on the power of fan loyalty and the enduring cultural currency of an iconic character. After 30 years, the badge said everything we needed to say: Axel Foley is back.
